Bank of St. Francisville Expands Its Reach

On a recent Monday, leaders from Bank of St. Francisville gathered at a construction site on busy Jefferson Highway in the heart of Louisiana’s Capital City. It was a big day: they had congregated to break ground on the bank’s long-awaited Baton Rouge branch, slated to open early 2027.

“As we break ground on our new home, I’m reminded that this bank doesn’t define our success—people do,” said Douglas Dupont, the bank’s executive vice president and Baton Rouge market president. “This bank, at its core, has always been about people: our customers, our team members, and our partners.”

Since its founding in 1978, Bank of St. Francisville has flourished by demonstrating a tireless commitment to community banking, by prioritizing welcoming, one-on-one service, and by always putting customers’ needs first. Across decades, the bank has expanded its reach to Baton Rouge and beyond as more individuals and businesses seek out the benefits of a banking partner that prioritizes the wellbeing of the communities it serves.

Bank of St. Francisville Board Chairman Conville Lemoine welcomes attendees to the Baton Rouge groundbreaking.

Now, grounded in the Felicianas, rooted in the strong relationships developed through community banking, the bank is poised to grow in the Capital City with this full-service branch. Customers can—and should—expect the same personalized service from banking representatives, delivered with the amenities and technology of a modern banking institution. The Jefferson Highway location expands the institution’s capabilities, offering enhanced opportunities for genuine connection, building capacity for face-to-face consultation on financial matters large and small.

“When we first began serving Baton Rouge, we had a simple goal—to combine the strength and sophistication of a modern financial institution with the personal touch that only a true community bank can offer,” Dupont said.  “In just a few years, we’ve grown faster than our most ambitious projections. That growth didn’t happen by chance; it’s the result of trust—the trust our customers place in us every day, and the trust our team has built in each other to do what’s right.”

Inspired by classic South Louisiana architecture, the 10,000-square-footbranch will rise on a 1.74-acre parcel on Jefferson Highway between I-12 and Bluebonnet Boulevard. A collaboration between Cockfield Jackson Architects, Cangelosi-Ward General Contractors and Kenneth Brown Design, the branch’s design has been conceived to deliver aesthetic beauty and twenty-first century convenience at regional scale.

Dupont noted that the new location represents more than an expansion; it symbolizes a commitment to reinvest in the city that has chosen to invest in the bank—a renewed promise to foster the personal connections and relationships that go beyond superficial business and financial transactions—transforming them into something that endures.

“It’s a space to welcome small business owners with big dreams, families planning for their futures, and customers who need a partner they can count on,” Dupont added. “This groundbreaking isn’t just about where we’re building this bank, but why we’re building it: to serve, to empower, and to grow together.”
