Our Story

Bank of St. Francisville was chartered in 1978 by a simple handwritten letter and soon opened an office out of a small trailer. After only a year, the bank moved into a historic brick building on Commerce Street that still serves as our home today.

From the moment our doors first opened, we’ve been committed to serving each and every customer individually. It’s our way of supporting tradition and our way of leaving a legacy in our community.

Together with our friends and neighbors, we’ve watched our community flourish and become recognized as one of the most beautiful small towns in America. We started with a mission to never take our customers for granted 45 years ago, and we continue to dedicate ourselves to providing honest, friendly banking and financial services.

We started as the “new bank in town,” and for decades we’ve introduced the newest trends in banking and technology to our community. Bank of St. Francisville was the first internet service provider in town and provided many of our friends and neighbors with their first email address. Today, we continue that tradition by offering online and mobile banking experiences for our customers.

From countless homeowners to small local businesses like Magnolia Café, Grandmother’s Buttons and Elliot Pharmacy, we’ve given a helping hand to so many in our community. The bank that first opened its doors in a small trailer in 1978 is now the bank that’s helping other people and businesses open doors of their own.

That is our legacy. By continuing to demonstrate just how much we value our customers, Bank of St. Francisville will continue to be a tradition in our community and beyond for generations to come.
